We say farewell to the Green Mountains of Vermont and slide further east to the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, setting up at a campground near the small town of Shelburne, NH on the Androscoggin River.
But - then we experience the first real issue with the RV when the drive system that runs the front support legs up and down fails. By some sheer stroke of luck the failure is such that the trailer 'king pin' is higher than the truck hitch we are able to lower the nose of the trailer and reattach it to the truck - Whew, that was close!
After figuring out that there are no RV dealers anywhere close by that can fix this failure - at least not until mid next week (of course it's 4:30 on a Friday night) - we make the decision to push on towards Bangor, Maine where the chances are better. We make it as far as a KOA campground in Cannan, ME.
